Rybachi Fearless Frosty

Build. Launch. Race. The Ultimate Entry-Level Sailboat Kit.

ABOUT THE CRAFT

The Frosty is a compact, single-sail dinghy designed for simplicity, stability, and impressive performance. Originally developed as an affordable, build-it-yourself sailboat, the Frosty has become a proven platform for youth sailing programs, experiential boatbuilding education, and community sailing initiatives nationwide.

Its lightweight hull, straightforward rigging system, and small-format design make it easy to build, transport, store, and launch. Ideal for beginner sailors, student builders, and entry-level racers, the Frosty provides a practical introduction to seamanship, sail trim, small-boat handling, and foundational marine systems.

Through the Rybachi Fearless Frosty initiative, the Marine Learning Project advances its mission by engaging students in the marine industry earlier in life. By introducing boatbuilding, sailing fundamentals, and hands-on maritime problem-solving at a young age, the Frosty initiative sparks early interest in marine trades, vessel operations, and working waterfront careers—helping build long-term pathways into Maine's maritime economy.
