From the Log Book: July 1st
We left my Seaport and they do Long Island sound anchoring in Port Jefferson. We were near the Denis Sullivan, which is a great lake schooner I seen in Boston last summer. We held swizzle, which is like a talent show, which was a lot of fun. It’s left on deck last night and Jake made delicious muffins. Today we arrive in Brooklyn. Captains Log: June 30th - July 1st: Mystic to Underway for New York
We made it up the river to Mystic on the 30th after a long day of motoring and sailing down from Provincetown. We caught a few hours of pure sailing along the way — always a treat — with fog rolling in and out for most of the passage. All systems aboard were running smoothly. The students settled into the rhythm of the trip and had a wonderful time in Mystic. On the morning of the 30th they gave Gamage a good scrub down, and in the afternoon we headed to the aquarium. 6/26/26 B Watch Adventures! We have been here now for three days, everyone is alive and doing well. We have played lots and lots of UNO. We have sailed a bunch and even went out onto the bowsprit to help furl the jibs. There have been lots of songs being sung and accents being practiced to help pass the time on and off watch.
